A Singaporean’s new musical comedy receives a staged reading in NYC. Yangtze Repertory Theatre of America, Inc. presents Frank: The Musical, written and directed by Marcus Yi.
From the website: “A staged reading of the new musical “Frank” that follows the first Asian-American singer/comedian through his first year in vaudeville. Sprinkle in runaways slave girls, crazy Chinese gangs, and a couple of sharpshooters you get a musical showbiz comedy you won’t forget!”

Originally from Singapore, Marcus Yi is an award-winning writer/director and performer based in New York. He has created work in Singapore, Atlanta, and New York, and is the artistic director of Living Room Theater. He has worked on over 100 productions and his recently created work include Micro Shrimp The Musical (Winner of 11th Annual NJ Playwrights Contest). Marcus was also named one of Indie Theater Now’s 2014 People of the Year and is an Indie Theater Now Playwright. He is a festival author of the 2nd Singapore Literature Festival in NYC (September 28 – 30, 2016).
